Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter September 22, 2019

I am holding out hope that one day in the not so distant future eBay will give USA sellers an unlimited store. In other words pay one fee and instead of being capped at 10k listings (then paying extra per item) they just let you list them all for the price of your store subscription. Instead now what I’m doing is scattering new listings over multiple eBay accounts because it’s the best way to beat them on fees. Turns out in other countries like Germany and Australia they already have this model.

This fee calculation helps explain why I have been running new accounts at 5dollarpatchstore and oapatch in 2019. The way the fees are structured once you get up to the largest store they have (10k) it makes more sense to start another account rather than keep growing the original. I know that this is not a topic for most of you but even at the lower levels sometimes having multiple accounts can help you save on fees.

Having to check multiple accounts for questions, offers, issues on a regular basis is a real pain. So if it ever comes to pass I’ll likely merge all my inventory to one mega-store on my Santeeswapper account. But eBay shareholders probably like the way things are now so it ight not change anytime soon.

Tonight I have auctions ending on the unique OA collection that includes many Elangomat and other rare modern pieces. At the same time I’m selling a collection of Waguli 318 and Croatan 117. I have things spread out with auctions ending almost every night.

This was my last weekend at home before 4 straight Scouting weekends that will test my wife’s patience. Next weekend it’s a Webelos camping trip. The following weekend I’m off to a camp trade show in south Florida. Then comes the Central Ohio TOR. The final piece is a Cub Scout pack camping trip for our district Cub-O-Ree. That’s a lot of Scouting!
