This week on Wednesday – Friday eBay is running their annual sellers event called eBay Open virtually. Any of you can sign up for free and listen in to some interesting panels and guests. I decided on the advice of someone I met at Flipcon in Charlotte to drive down for the in person event tonight in Atlanta. It’s just a 3-hour event but I hope to talk to some eBay employees about small issues and network with other sellers.
One of my main pain points is combined shipping. I have rolled with a promotion to give customers free shipping when they purchase 5 or more items in any of my stores. However eBay’s system doesn’t like to mix together auctions wins, offers and BIN sales very easily. So I have to sometimes manually send refunds which is not elegant and adds friction to the purchasing decision. That’s just one of the topics I’ll hope to get some answers on.
Luckily while driving to Atlanta today I’m stopping to pick up a collection northeast of town. It’s kinda ironic (and maybe will make for a good story tonight) that I would source on the way to an eBay event. I have not seen any pictures of the items but I have been in contact for over a year and this is my first time heading in that direction.
On Santeeswapper I have 182 live auctions including first issue CSPs, southern OA and more. I will soon finish out the month of September having achieved my goal of listing 100 new items per day (7 days per week). It’s like running on a treadmill but coming out of summer camp season my sales are up.
