Forum Is Retiring To The Digital Rocking Chair

I want to inform you of the imminent retirement of the forum at Since 2006 the website has been a neat place to post things about the hobby and engage in a little chatter. However, with the launch this year of the Scout Patch Collectors Facebook Group the forum concept on has now been supplanted and there is no reason to continue the site. But luckily I have found a way to keep all the content on from the last seven years from being lost for good. I paid to have all of the threads, comments, and topics converted to posts on my new WordPress site at

You will see on this new website that the category structure on has been duplicated to some degree and all the content is there. Over the next several weeks I’m going to use my Twitter feed and posts on my Facebook Page to highlight some of the great content on the old forum that now has a new home on I hope to build out the new site as a resource site and I invite anyone interested in doing some guest posts to contact me at I would be remiss in closing the forum on Patchblanket if I didn’t extend a heart felt thank you to Dave Muira who has served as the moderator of the forum for some time now. Dave kept the site clean which was no small feat and provided the most active voice on the forum probably going all the way back to the beginning.

The website name is not going away. As I reshuffle some of my web properties this fall it’s scheduled to come back to life in another form by the end of the year. It won’t be a rebirth as a forum seeing as the Facebook Group is so active but I’ve got some big plans for the new Patchblanket as it’s the 2nd oldest website in my stable. So keep an eye on the Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter and the Facebook Page and I’ll announce everything when I’m ready to go live. Thanks for being a member of the community and I hope you will visit the new page at
