Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter October 22, 2024

In case any of you are not aware of a wonderful series that overlaps our hobby I want to point it out. When I attended NCS at Philmont last year I had the pleasure of meeting Harold White in person. By this point he had already filmed many history loaded videos from the National Scout Museum, I mostly see their content on Facebook but if you are active on YouTube they have a channel there as well that you can subscribe to.

I have mentioned it several times in the Hot Finds but I also want to plug the Digital Crackerbarrel run by John Pleasants and Larry Lane. I know some of the readers are regulars on this Monday night recorded Zoom. If there was a good thing that came out of Covid this might be it. Each week a different collector takes a turn sharing some topic in detail with well researched PowerPoints. it might be the Ted Talk of cloth.

I hope that you are already subscribed to my YouTube Channel with all the Unboxings that I have shared here over the years. Lately I have been publishing a new one every few weeks. I have a box arriving Wednesday that I think will make a good one for the next installment.

On eBay this week I have 142 live auctions running. This group features camp patches, SAPs and OA. We have gone through over 2k new camp patch listings over the last couple of months. On the horizon I can tell you we’re working on World Jamboree items along with event patches.
