Boy Scout Troop Memorabilia Trade-O-Ree On A Weeknight

When Charles Fetora told me that his troop was hosting a 1-night troop meeting that was going to function as a Trade-O-Ree I was intrigued. In the Palmetto Council where his troop is located there is a lot of energy in the hobby of collecting Scouting memorabilia. I sat down to interview Chuck to get the scoop on the PLC plans for this troop meeting event.

After filming this video I did attend the troop meeting night TOR along with a few other “vendors”. Mostly we were focused on putting on displays and giving the Scouts some free stuff to jump start their collections.  One of the cool activities was to help every Scout build a patch notebook. I provided the plastic album pages and the SM brought the 3-ring binders. It was great to see the smiles on the Scouts faces as they dug through the “almost world famous” dollar patch box to fish out their free patches.

I loved the idea to plant seeds for the hobby and let these Scouts see the fun of connecting with Scouting history!
