Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter November 13, 2015

There was some discussion on Facebook regarding the red arrow patch in the lot below. I believe the consensus was that it’s a military unit patch. Of course those get mixed in quite a bit with old Boy Scout collections.

As I was toasted on my Boy Scout bid this week I’m happy to report there wasn’t as much competition in the Girl Scout world. I won my very first GSA item on eBay this week – scoring a uniform with over 30 pre-WWII badges on it for less than $100. Maybe I shouldn’t be talking about all that and stirring up the competition?

Just to prove to a few of the readers that I don’t hide the good auctions I’ll tell you that the merit badge sash below is one I’m going to bid on. I doubt that my high bid will take it home but it’s a nice sash and I am picking up Eagle medals when I come across them.

So how about this for ingenuity. One of the readers has a wife who is a Realtor in the Charlotte area. After announcing in the Hot Finds my resettlement plans I got a nice card from her yesterday offering to help my family relocate. Talk about the Boy Scout hook up! 🙂
