I had something happen to me during the OA fellowship that some of you can really appreciate. A Scouter that knew I was into Scout stuff came up to me and had a box of stuff that he put together from estate sales to part with. Included in the box was one pick that included a local 1943 Eagle Scout collection including cards, the sash and Eagle medal. What a beauty! I’m going to post that one on Facebook to share.

I was only able to stay at the fellowship for about 5 hours yesterday but my impressions are that things are on the upswing. We have some new leadership and I was very impressed with the lodge officers during the ECM. The attendance at the fellowship was way up and I even got to see an old brother who I haven’t laid eyes on since 1990.

So here is a dilemma and maybe you can give us some advice. The oldest building at camp is literally rotting to pieces. Our beloved Eco Hut that was one of the original camp cabins has not been used for a few years and it looks just terrible. I’d love to see a plan to renovate it but I fear that there are probably way too many competing ideas and egos to make this an easy task. Anybody have a model from their camp/council of how to rescue a beloved camp building?

Tonight I’ve got a nice consignment group ending with lots of neat paper items. As you can see from these links it includes some old Baden-Powell related items and some classic pieces like a copy of The Saturday Evening Post in superb condition.
