My crew has been on a 3-day trip to Philly and thanks to good food and walking a neat city we have had fun. I even saw this sign hanging above the door or a Cheesesteak diner (Campo’s) and wondered what in the world is the connection?! I was very tempted to strike up a conversation with the Girl Scouts getting ice cream at Franklin Fountain. Even on vacation you can’t stop your Scout radar.
Last night in case you missed it Jeff Morley presented another one of his Tales of the Uknown zooms on the digital cracker barrel. I always look forward to the replay as I am tied up with family in the evenings. He has been going through a list of what he thinks are the best flaps that were not the first in each lodge.
One of the big take aways for me on this trip was spending an afternoon at the Barnes Foundation. This guy collected an unbelievable amount of artwork in his lifetime and now it’s housed in an art museum in Philly. I think I saw original paintings from every person we learned about in art history class when I was a sophomore in college. But it hammered home to me I need to work on my displays and get to more Scouting events. This guy left a legacy through his collection that people from all over the world can enjoy.
On eBay this week I have 138 live auctions running on camp patches, world jamboree and more. I also have a pop-up clearance sale running in the store with about 2k items marked down 41% off.
