1950’s Seattle Washington Eagle Scout Was Highly Decorated

In this video I get to open a time capsule collection from an Eagle Scout who grew up in the early 1950s in Seattle, Washington. He worked hard to earn a ton of merit badges including some that you don’t see very often. I always wonder when I see these if any of the vocations he was exposed to in the merit badge program blossomed into a career. With having earned Botany and Zoology maybe he became a scientist!?

Oh and a post publishing update. I did return the jewelry that was discovered hiding in the box and the family was very happy to get the heirloom back. I shared the draft of this video with her and this is what she shared “What a wonderful service you provide, it was much fun to learn about the patches on Charley’s scouting items. I believe the second sash belonged to Charley’s younger brother, Arthur H. who was also an eagle scout. Mystery solved”.

If you have a collection like this that has been hiding in the back of a closet or in the attic for years please reach out. I’d love to share the story of your time in the program and get the items recycled back to the next generation. Feel free to call/text/email me so I can learn more.
