Boy Scout Memorabilia Set Price Catalog

December 2012 Boy Scout Memorabilia Sales Catalog

I’ve started publishing a monthly sales catalog as an eBay alternative. The idea actually came out of an episode of Scouting Hot Finds Radio and so far I’m having fun with it. This month’s issue is 17 pages long and includes several hundred Order of the Arrow issues along with a large group of Philmont Training Conference patches.

A couple of key features to my sales catalog are easy pricing and free shipping. So as you will see when you open up the catalog I have a low sales price that shows you the discount I’m offering over retail. You can also pay with check/money order, PayPal or major credit card. I hope you will take a look at the catalog and give me some feedback if you can on the format, concept or other ideas to make it better.

POST SCRIPT

This original post from 2012 did announce a new selling strategy that I was using. This idea actually came from me shutting down my off eBay store at the time. I was using a software that was so slow it made it impossible for me to update. This was Version 2 of me hosting my own off-eBay store and it came crashing down. So I took the CSV file with all the items and prices and turned it into a straight sale catalog. My concept was borrowed from John Conley Williams. I remember getting his Heart O’ Texas Trader catalogs in the mail back in the 90s. I learned later that he had an A catalog and a B catalog. So it always seemed like you were getting new material because in back to back issues the offering was unique. So my idea here in 2012 was to do an A, B and C catalog. I believe I went through this strategy for a few cycles but pulled the plug after limited success. I always claim to be the crash test dummy of memorabilia dealers always willing to try out a strategy. You can find my current off-eBay store at www.ScoutPatchHQ.com. My main eBay store is located at www.Patchblanket.com.
