Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter December 13, 2024
For some time I have have made available as a free PDF download all of my prices realized guides and some other resources on my ScoutPatchHQ shopify store. Chris Jensen does something similar on his website. Yesterday on a Facebook post a fellow collector was suggesting I mail out CSP and OA lodge checklists. So I wanted to poll the subscribers fo the Hot Finds….what should I include next?
Here is a hot take. There are some reference books in the hobby that are so far out of print that they have not been produced in this century. I have considered reaching out to those authors (if they are alive) and asking if I could scan and share their book for free.But maybe a more obvious idea is checklists. What do ya’ll think?
On eBay I have 126 live auctions running on vintage merit badges, OA and camp patches. This continues a run of some of the best items I’ve gotten in collections over the last six months. It’s not like I was holding them back for the holidays it’s just how things worked out.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
