A good patch friend told me about an ecommerce solution he just started using to have an online store that integrates with eBay and Facebook. Now some of you who have been long time readers will know I’m on version 5 or 6 of some kinda off-eBay store setup. This one looks promising but after spending some time last night looking at the tutorials and all I just don’t think I’m game for another swim in that pool.
A few years back I recommitted myself to eBay and especially this fall I’ve been adding inventory to my store every week. I discovered that as a 2nd channel I could use Facebook to go where collectors are already hanging out. So at this time both of my platforms are places where there are already a bunch of eyeballs and in the online world that’s the #1 factor.
The antique mall booths are really just a solution to the problem of what to do with all the uniforms, books and 3-D items that I’ve accumulated over the years that are hard to ship. As a revenue maker they are pretty nominal but they do help keep clutter out of my patch cave which to me is a pretty important goal.
Earlier this week while listing activity patches for sale I let one go too cheap. I had a patch that looked to be a District Cub Scout Pow Wow based on the text on it. Turns out it was an OA chapter event patch. Well you win some and you loose some. I got a little smarter and put the next one up for bids and it’s pictured below.
