Now that the holidays are winding down many people are allowing them to think about 2017. The hobby is going to have a good year and some popular TORs are just around the corner. A friend asked me this week about going to the Dallas TOR which is a well attended show. I have to save my family free pass for Chris Jensen’s South Carolina TOR so I won’t be flying out to TX.

One of the cool things on Facebook over the last few days is seeing collectors getting gifts that go with their hobby. One guy’s family bought him a bunch of frames so he could mount his collection on the wall. Nick Wolf got a quilt made out of his old Boy Scout t-shirts. Did you get anything from friends or family to support your patch collecting habit?

There was a really interesting story out this week on a big investment by the Evangeline Area Council in Louisiana to develop their Swamp Base. In a time when other councils are merging (hasn’t that trend heated up again?) it looks like the Cajuns are investing $30 million long term in this unique high adventure property.

I have an after-Christmas sale running in my eBay store at Patchblanket.com with 15% off store wide. I’m counting down the hours until my in-laws push off to go home and then I’ll be able to catch up on orders. Hopefully you got a little patch cash in your stocking to spend.
