I got my start on eBay in 1998 but like most people that was not the year I started selling. Eventually I did dip my feed in and I can remember after the 2001 Jamboree coming home with some stuff that got listed on eBay. By the time I came home from the 2002 NOAC I definitely was on my way to making my eBay business grow. I started accumulating some feedback and getting some attention from folks who maybe were a little older and not prepared to make the leap to eBay. However, it was in the spring of 2004 when I really turned my hobby into a business by selling on consignment for an old Scouting friend that had run into a pinch of trouble.
So while the idea of selling on consignment might be tempting for people looking to get serious on eBay there are many pitfalls to beware of. In this episode of my podcast I interview Angi Diller who is an eBay Powerseller that does eBay selling on consignment as a full time business. She also goes into the topic of using pickers which is a little bit more advanced.
