Making history last night! We had 25 female Scouts attend our Commitment night last night for Troop 233 in Charlotte. It was rainy so the Scoutmaster had them out under the shelter going over how to pack for a camping trip. Most of these girls have turned in applications and will be ready to roll on Feb. 1st when the program launches. Their first camping trip is the following weekend. My role is communications on the troop committee so that gives me a good excuse to be the shutter bug running around taking pictures.
Thank you for allowing me to experiment with an old school way of selling a collection yesterday. Starting a few minutes after the email hit my inbox started buzzing. I’m always trying to find a new way to play an old game. The catalog took about 4 days to build (sorting, pricing, scanning) but the results were very rewarding.
As predicted in the recent episode of Thread Heads one of the first flaps to go was the S23 NOAC delegate from Atta Kulla Kulla. Some of those earlier delegate pieces are really hard to get and sure enough I was right as it didn’t last the first hour.
I honored my pledge to give Hot Finds readers the first crack at this collection. It was past noon eastern when I posted an edited version of the catalog to Facebook that removed sold items from the morning harvest. I like to give the collectors who follow the newsletter a thank you opportunity when I can.
I hope some of you will be joining me at this weekend’s South Carolina TOR hosted by Chris Jensen. It’s located in the upstate of SC in the town of Easley where Streamwood Inc is located. I am pulling out around noon (maybe 1) to make the trip across I-85 from Charlotte.
I have updated the TOR calendar with all the shows going through into 2020. If you are a TOR organizer and I don’t have your flier send me an email.
