Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter January 7, 2025
Tomorrow I am going to try out a version of an idea I’ve had for some time. In filming my unboxing videos I have often thought could I do a version of live selling here. So as I open the box put each item up for an instant auction (like on Whatnot) and sell it quickly. There are lots of reasons this might work and definitely some downsides.
So tomorrow I am going to try a modified version of this. I’m going to post my latest unboxing on Facebook and then minutes later post pictures of the items from that unboxing for sale in the Scout Patch Collectors. Not quite a live sale but still giving viewers the chance to grab interesting items from the video. It’s an experiment!
I might consider bringing back the truly live selling idea in Q2 of this year. I am going out to Las Vegas in March for a resellers conference. I know there will be some serious Whatnot sellers there and I might can pick their brain about this.
For once I don’t have any live auctions running on eBay! That will change very quickly this week. But we let the calendar run out and are busy building it back from scratch. Yesterday I had a record breaking (for me) five employees in the warehouse sorting, taking pictures and shipping orders. So it won’t be long before the results start hitting the store.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
