Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter January 21, 2022
I got a call yesterday from one of my favorite old employees asking if I still needed help. Angela was the mom of one of my Tiger Cubs when we first moved to Charlotte. Our sons got along well and she used to come over to help me ship and scan when I had the business set up in the basement of our rental house. She’s coming by today to check out the new warehouse…fingers crossed.
I was asked by someone at the Easley TOR how do you make a full time business out of eBay. He basically answered his own question – volume. You have to sell lots and lots of $5 and $10 patches to make the math work. But for example yesterday someone went into my shop and bought 36 items from the 1989 Jamboree. So the game for me is to just keeping reloading the inventory and keep the momentum.
Along with my run of
266 live auctions on eBay I’m also running some sales in my store. The most significant one is the beginning of a big push to sell off my parakeet dupes in 2022. I’ve got a 35% off sale on all my Santee Lodge and Dixie Fellowship memorabilia. Just look for those categories in my
Patchblanket eBay Store.
Next Wednesday I’m making a run to Augusta GA. My main goal is to visit Rick Mann’s frame shop and pick up some great Boy Scout artwork that I dropped off to get worked on. While there I’ve got 2 patch deals going down and on the way home I’m making two stops for camp business including meeting the Field Director at the Scout office. We are going to make the hiring decisions for camp staff and get contracts sent out ASAP.
