Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter January 18, 2022

Today marks the first official day that my daughter Sophia is coming to work in the warehouse for dad. We finally settled on her passing on some other opportunities to work for me two days per week this semester. Today she is sorting OA patches so already she is making a difference.

This might end up being a short week with the weather. Monday I worked from home but was able to get a bunch of listings prepped to launch. Our forecast for later in the week calls for snow Thursday late and especially on Friday. My wife hates for me to bring patches home (and our cat sometimes drags them off) so I’ll have to work on some bookkeeping or other catch up work if that happens.

I have found a buyer for my Eagle Scout Winchester rifle. Happily it is one of the readers of the Hot Finds so it is going to a good home. My goal was to keep it with a Scout collector and not let it go off to the purely gun collectors although that likely cost me some money. I’m trying to schedule a time now to meet up with the guy and hand it over.

This week I have 389 live auctions running including a about 100+ that end Thursday. There is nothing special about those just ones that I clicked the wrong button on. Right now I’ve got my auctions all scheduled for the next month so that gives me some leeway to work on other projects in the warehouse. Among those are a consignment on some really good pieces and a crap ton of camp patches.

My wife has approved several proposed TORs for our family calendar. Of course the next one is Indy the first weekend in November. But I am also now scheduled to attend the VA Beach TOR that John and Mike run. (I better get some tables!). After that there are not many near me on the calendar. Alabama in May is a possibility but it hasn’t got her stamp of approval yet.
