Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter February 25, 2024
By the time this goes out I will have come home from the IWC volunteer recognition ceremony where myself and others council Scouters will be recognized. I got to go up on stage with my mom to receive the Silver Beaver. She was there when my dad got his in the 1980s so this is very special for our family.
This weekend there are dozens of great auctions ending. I’ve had a heck of a run as we sold over 600 items on eBay over the last week. I don’t know if people have been getting their tax return checks or if I’m just posting better stuff.
I have a few really interesting collections that I’m looking forward to getting in this week. But just to be honest with you guys I don’t bat 1000%. A cool collection that I’ve been working on for the better part of a month fell apart yesterday when the family posted pictures of everything on Facebook. The vultures swiftly flew in and my chances were toast. But you win some you lose some in this game!
On eBay I have 210 live auctions with most of those ending tonight! I’ve got the calendar set for the next two weeks with lots of OA on the schedule.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
