One thing I have seen happening in the hobby on the OA side is people getting excited about collection 100th Anniversary flaps. It reminds me of just a few years ago in 2010 when anything that had the anniversary logo was sought after. Sometimes we need a reason to start new collections and since chasing down needs is half the fun I get it.
No where is this push for new issues more obvious than over on the Scout Patch Collectors Facebook Group. There is such a buzz about new issues that guys are taking pictures of flaps still in the sealed bag from their lodge trading post and giving everyone a heads up before they are sold. I am also seeing people share order forms for 100th Anniversary fundraiser sets.
I know from experience that many people like to collect from a checklist. This has been what’s helped me figure out what I need as I dip into the classics. So if you have a 100th anniversary checklist that I can share with the readers of the Hot Finds how about shoot me an email.
What I haven’t seen so far is someone creating a website dedicated to cataloging the new issues. Back for the 2013 Jamboree there was an awesome site that had all the contingent designs. Anybody have plans for making an OA 100th Anniversary site?
I now have the store all cleaned up and even after the spring cleaning there are still more live items on ScoutPatchHQ than I have in my eBay store. That might change in the coming months but if you want to get a 15% discount on all Scouting memorabilia purchased at www.ScoutPatchHQ.com then use coupon code 2315 at checkout.
I teased earlier about making a catalog of 100th anniversary items. I would like to start that project on www.ScoutPatchCollectors.com – if you want to be part of that shoot me an email.
