Sunday I am traveling to my hometown of Sumter, SC to attend the volunteer recognition banquet. I’ve been honored as a recipient of the Silver Beaver from the Indian Waters Council. I’ve asked my mom to be my date and for my camp staff Yoda Austin China to walk me down the aisle. Plus Tripp Clark is running a loaded silent auction for the endowment with some great local memorabilia.
Saturday March 3 I am headed to Camp Coker to get an update on the revitalization plans for the old girl. Coker saw it’s first campers in the summer of 1929 and I’ve spent more than 365 nights sleeping there in my life. Post merger a generous donation of $1mil is being used to modernize and refocus the facility towards it’s new mission. So over some BBQ we are going to hear a report from the properties committee and learn how others can get engaged.
On eBay I have 221 live auctions running including camp patches OA and more. Yesterday my son helped do a tiny sample inventory of four boxes in my store. He discovered dozens of patches that should have been listed but were not live. It’s a sad fact that over the years I’ve always found items drop off eBay for no apparent reason and might sit for months or years before I discover the issue.
