The two 1937 WSJ patches below came out of a stamp album according to the seller. Knowing what the market for stamps is I suspect this was a nice surprise for the person who purchased them. You gotta love estate sales.
Tomorrow I’ve got a jam packed Scouting day. First I’ll be in Columbia at the IWC Merit Badge University with my program director to interview staff and do promotions. When that wraps up then I’m heading to my lodge fellowship for a patch auction and trading. I will have copies of the patch guide that I did with Nathan Kohler there and hope I’ve got some interested collectors.
Over the years of writing the Hot Finds I’ve noticed that selling current uniform pieces is something that people have success with on eBay. Being that I like to do things different I’m trying to sell my extra uniform pieces on Facebook. Right now I have mostly Cub Scout pieces listed but will eventually have hundreds more if I can keep up the pace. This is a strategy that I used in the past on Facebook of building albums. I have an easy URL shortcut if you want to check out my strategy at www.ScoutUniformCloset.com.
