Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter March 18, 2018

I am spending the week with a bunch of my new friends at National Camp School. It’s been over 20 years since I’ve attended NCS. This time I’m in GA at an FFA camp and I’m highly motivated to soak it all in. I’ve been one of those annoying people that asks lots of questions. So far I’ve only called my Program Director one time to share an idea I was afraid I’d forget.

I was able to buy some packs of these 2017 Jamboree epaulets in the trading post for a good deal. I can sell them for $5 each shipped. If you need a set I checked eBay and people have been asking $10-$15 for them. I think that is called retail arbitrage. Hey even at NCS I have to do the patch thing.

I have been picking up some ideas and this is one from CA. I don’t know about wearing it on the sleeve as opposed to the pocket but this program from Emerald Bay has segments for all the unique camp activities available. My camp did something similar but instead of segments they made full blown shoulder strips for the different programs. Unfortunately I helped make the decision to cancel one of those programs so I don’t know what will happen to those strips.
