A lesson from my Sunday school class this morning is something I can see reflected in our hobby. It’s the who not the what that will make you happy. In other words the relationships you build and maintain are very important to making you happy. To me that’s another reason why I really believe in the power of community that we gain through meeting in person at Trade-O–Rees and Scouting events.
As Spring is a time when there are many conclaves, TORs, and other opportunities to be part of this Scouting brotherhood I hope you will get out and be with the “who” in your circle. It reminded me that I missed out on a camping trip that had become a regular connection between me and a friend. As I look on my calendar I have a camp staff reunion on June 7. This will be a great chance to reconnect with some long lost friends.
Just around the corner is a chance to come to the Charlotte Trade-O-Ree and connect with some cloth hounds. It’s fun in the weeks leading to up to hear from people who are coming to the show. I mailed out cards to a local Scout leader Friday and next week I hope to blitz some Scout meetings to talk it up.
On eBay I have 225 live auctions running on mostly OA issues. Today is also the final day of a broad sale that I have been running on about 10k items in the store.
