If you have ever hosted a Trade-O-Ree it’s much like any other event planning you have signed on for. You have to make sure the facility is ready, the tables are there, the food and those helping serve it are prepared. It’s not for the faint of heart! Last night I met Matt Delk in Charlotte as he delivered 75+ tables that Chris Jensen graciously agreed to let me use…even though he will be in Wisconsin next weekend! Matt and I enjoyed a nice dinner at a local restaurant and got to catch up.
Last week I met with the local troop that is running the concessions and check-in. I gave them some seed money to buy supplies and they are happy with the menu they have planned out. This same troop will help with set up Thursday night. With luck when dealers show up Friday everything will be 100% ready.
Monday I am going to my antique mall to clear out some things. The booth has not had a great beginning to 2025 (partly the economy I think) and so I’m going to do a hard reset on it. I’m going to bring most of the nick nack stuff to put in the silent auction at the TOR. I’m also bringing over my “Almost World Famous Dollar Box” so people at the TOR can shop it. Then the following week I’ll take all new stuff to the booth.
On eBay I have 238 live auctions with about 6-dozen+ of those ending tonight. This includes some really nice OA pieces that have gotten bids.
