Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter March 23, 2021

Today I published my latest unboxing video (link below) with a collection that came to me from New Jersey via Nebraska. This guy did most of his Scouting in NJ and had 40+ years in the program. I was blown away buy the amount of stuff he put in 2 boxes weighing 40 pounds total.

One of the unusual things that was in the box was a lot of foreign items including hat brushes. Chris Jensen introduced me to these unique piece of Scouting memorabilia. In some countries the color of the brush represents adult leadership positions which are a real throwback style.

I was happy to get so many neckerchiefs as I’ve done pretty well with those on eBay lately. I don’t think you can go wrong with decades old camp neckerchiefs. I know there are a lot of camp collectors out there loyal to their boyhood camp like I am.

I have 343 live auctions on eBay this week. One of my strategies is to have about 15 vintage OA pieces ending every night to compliment a run of event patches that I’m auctioning off. All of these OA pieces are close to 50 years old.

I am done! I finished sorting my OA Name/Number flap collection Monday. As you might suspect I filmed a video to show the process and kinda explain my rules for the collection. I hope to get that one published in time for Friday’s issue. Now time to track down some real killer pieces to get closer to finishing.
