Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter April 02, 2021
I’ve mentioned for some time that I have been working on a big project to organize my name/number flap collection. As of this week I am officially finished! By my count there are just under 750 lodges that produced a flap.
As you might have guessed I decided to make a short video kinda explaining my project and sharing some of the decisions I made. The biggest ones being that I am looking for pre-fdl flaps and am not going after some of the really obscure ones that issued only an odd shape or neckerchief.
After merging a 1500+ collection that I bought in January with my existing collection I now have a definitive needs list. All these are going to get mounted in some great wooden frames that came with the collection. I am sure there will be a video shared when I start that project too.
On eBay I have
343 live auctions running with about 15 OA pieces from the aforementioned “January collection” ending every night. You can also find a ton of event patches among the auctions I’m running.
Chris Jensen is helping the Blue Ridge Council in SC raise money via some eBay auctions. These are being run on the council’s account with items that Chris has donated. You can see these under
seller ID limcelh_36D.
