Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter April 30, 2023

With only four weeks before I push off for my summer camp role it’s time to make some decisions around the business. I have been diligently working on completing some projects and one of those has been listing all of my merit badges for sale. I have a few more boxes that are prepped and ready to go this week. I also am building out my auction calendar for May.

Being that I spend a lot of time working on a computer during the week it’s a welcome break to spend 5 weeks out of the summer around other people and truly doing the mission of Scouting. We will serve close to 700 campers this summer and I’ll get to interact with a few hundred adult leaders and staff. So this is definitely my chance to get outdoors and enjoy eating in the dining hall, singing in the dining hall and helping with campfires.

Luckily, I have been able to recruit some fabulous ladies who work for me year-round that will keep the operation humming in the summer. We have systems in place and with their experience I really won’t hear from them very often during the week as they process orders and take care of the day-to-day. With Jamboree following camp, this will really be more like a 2-month hiatus from having the boss around. Maybe that’s just what they need to – a break from me. 🙂

This week I have 220 live auctions on eBay including camp patches and pins. Over on my OApatch account, you can find more from a great California OA collection up for bids.
