Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter March 22, 2022

For better or worse over the last four months I have been piling up small collections that I’ve purchased in the corner of the office. During that time my focus has been squarely on trying to work through and list the inventory that was already bought and paid for here in the warehouse. So I was letting the boxes pile up as I’d finished rounds of sorting and scanning. Knowing that the new boxes had more of the same I didn’t want to start them until I had finished the first. Check out the picture below to see what this led to.
So yesterday I got behind the camera and started filming unboxing videos to capture the excitement of cracking open these small collections. The oldest went back into the 1930s and the newest one was from the 1980s. So far during my Unbox-O-Ree I have worked through about 1/2 of that pile of boxes. After I publish this issue I’ll probably do a FB live video as a follow up to the 1935 Jamboree collection that I posted about recently.
I do have some ideas about how to move all this inventory without scanning each individual item and selling them one-by-one on eBay. Maybe I’ll do a subscription box and people can get patches in the mail every month! If you think that isn’t the craziest thing you’ve heard let me know.
I have 306 live auctions on eBay this week including a wide variety of items. I am usually heavy on OA but you won’t find much of that in my offerings this week.
Speaking of unboxing videos…I am going to publish one tomorrow that my video editor has ready. I’ll be sure to post a link on FB and in the Friday newsletter. It’s a busy week around here but unlike last week I’m not driving back and forth so it should be very productive.
