Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter May 21, 2023

Have you ever used the excuse of taking one of your kids to a birthday party to slip away and do a project while you are waiting it out? Last night I got to spend several hours building some more shelving at the patch warehouse while my son was otherwise enjoying a 13th birthday party for one of his friends at school. I only had two things drop on my head and made it away with one small cut. But hey I have some new shelves!

I have everything organized at the warehouse in long skinny boxes that fit tightly on shelves. But as we have now expanded to over 70,000 individual items for sale that means we ran out of room to keep it all organized properly. So last night I moved a bunch of stuff off shelves (ouch!) and after a trip to Lowes managed to expand our capacity. The downside is I have less room for bulky boxes and am under even more pressure to clear out things like uniforms, books, belts and equipment.

On OApatch tonight I have a bunch of lodge neckerchiefs ending including some chapter pieces and conclave issues. That store is now up to almost 6,000 items and I’ve got more items scheduled to go in there every day of the week. Slow and steady wins the race with eBay’s algorithm.

Hats! Yes I am willing to try anything and see if it can be recycled. Inevitably in buying collections I get these and have never tried to sell them online. But I have over a hundred live up for auction that are ending tonight. This includes some cool ones from Philmont and the World Jamboree too.
