With the Jamboree less than 2 months away, I was checking to see
if you want any tables at the Boy Scout Memorabilia Patch Show
and Swap Meet?
The show will again be held at the Eagles Lodge, 21 Cool Springs
Rd. – Fredericksburg, VA. The hall is big, well air conditioned
and provided great food at reasonable prices.
The dates are Fri 7/23 to Sun 8/1 and is open daily from
noon until 11:00 PM during the week and noon to 1:00 AM on Fri &
Sat nights (special hours Fri 7/23 3PM – 1AM and Sun 8/1 noon – 5PM)
6-foot tables are $125 for the whole 10 days or $15 a day during the
week and $25 a day on Fri / Sat / Sun.
We have revised the directions this year, so it should be easier
for people to find.
Admission is free and we have heard from many visitors, along with
multiple groups that they are planning on stopping by.
We are again trying to come up with creative ways to advertise
the show. We will again be targeting the thousands and thousands
of visitors, along with the Collector community.
With that in mind, here is some of what we are planning on doing.
1) Store signs – we will again distribute 100 full color 11″x17″
store signs to the many hotels, restaurants, grocery stores,
7-11’s, etc in the 3-4 exits around the TOR.
2) Car signs – we have signs we can put these in our car windows. As
we drive around people will see them where ever we park during the week.
3) We printed 2000 small 5″x8″ cards that we will leave in hotel lobbies and
what to do boxes. We and also leave them at rest stops on I-95.
Collectors going into the NJ can also lay them on their trade blankets.
4) 1/2 page ad in the April and June ISCA journal.
5) TOR info on the ISCA website. (sent in already)
6) TOR flyers at other TOR’s.
7) Info on the Society of Scout Memorabilia Dealers website, mailing, etc.
8) We are also looking into getting some signs that can be placed along
the road.
Please contact Richard Shields thecarolinatrader@yahoo.com or myself if
you have any questions.
We hope to see you there and would love to hear your thoughts and comments.
