Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter June 23, 2017

Monday I have arranged a meeting with a life long Scouter to look at his collection. Part of the fun in buying collections is hearing peoples Scouting stories. It really is a brotherhood in which you speak the same language and have so much in common.

One of the nice things about having a big eBay store is I can raid it to find trade stock for the upcoming Jamboree. You gotta figure if I have stuff left from the 2013 Jamboree that has not sold in 4 years that is a good candidate to become trade stock. Its kinda crazy how on some JSPs you can end up with double digit dupes and so it’s time to turn those into new cloth.

The Girl Scout Jamboree is going to be my last best chance to see if I can turn my daughter into a trader. She is a little shy at first to make that first introduction (and bother!) someone unlike her dad. So I am going to stock her with tons of trading material and she if she can catch the bug doing that classic 1:1 trading among the 1,000 Scouts that will be there. Many of those Scouts are making hand-made swaps or bring patches from their council to trade.

While I’m gone I do have somebody back home doing the shipping so the store at Patchblanket.com is still open. That helps because since the kids got out of school I’ve been on the run.
