Although during the live video I got the date wrong the patch I was really after was a 2008 contingent flap that has eluded me for over a decade. The gold “Bobfather” flap from Bob White Lodge 87 has been a thorn in my side for a long time. Since both the mom and son had one I can know scratch that off my list and still pop one on eBay to sell.
Believe it or not in this collection I was also excited to guy the t-shirts. Mainly I was looking for a Hippie themed lodge shirt that Bob White #87 did that featured a VW Bus on the back. In about three weeks my son and I are going camping at a VW Bus Festival in the mountains of NC. I’m still waiting to trade patches for a VW Bus of my own but that day might never come.
In a few minutes I’m jumping in car to go visit my mom in South Carolina. One thing I’ll be bringing back is my dad’s Lionel Trains. These have been collecting dust since he passed away and she really wants me to sell them. I don’t usually go outside my comfort zone of Scout stuff but of course for my mom I’ll do anything.
I have not slacked off my auction schedule as June winds down. I have a Georgia OA group and some PA items ending tonight on Santeeswapper. On OApatch I have over 150 auctions running on flaps and two-piece sets. On Patchsniper I am finishing up SAPs and moving into OA with 176 live auctions. Finally on ScoutPatchHQ I am selling CSPs from all over at auction.
The visit from two Missouri collectors went great (except for them getting a flat tire on the way home!). I sent home 4 boxes of paper including lodge charters. Terrance bought a bunch of Lodge 42 patches including some needs. He also has a box full of council activity patches to give out to Cub Scouts. Mission accomplished sending some stuff home!
