Yesterday I put in snipes on several of the Air Explorer items in the Noble Spirit auctions. I put my bids in at 100% of the historical best sold comp and in one case even higher. In all cases I was totally blown out of the water. On a Saturday afternoon! It’s great to see there is such interest in the old stuff that even with a flood of it all ending on one weekend these got good prices.
The reunion went off yesterday without a hitch. Thanks to Tripp Clark and all of his Scout elves they pulled off bridging the gap with two different camps post merger. For my old camp I saw many people there including some I had never met before. Hopefully the connections made will lead to some surge in alumni relations and connecting with our shared history.
Sitting at my lunch table was a guy from another council that shared in the last two years his camp had $1.5 million in investments. You can bet that came from reengaged alumni! So I think there is a clear patch forward to invite these people to stay connected with the council and to share their talents in any way they see fit.
On eBay I have 224 live auctions including more terrific Georgia OA. Maybe I’ll have some luck like Noble Spirit and find some energy in having so many good pieces together.
