Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter July 16, 2021

In less than 36 hours my time at Camp Barstow this summer will be wrapped up and I’ll be home with lots of memories and stories to tell from this summer. For someone who spends the majority of my time sitting at a computer this was a chance to get outside and connect with people after a long pandemic.

Tonight we have our closing campfire and will meet with the staff to have a celebration cracker barrel. It’s been 5 long weeks for our staff and we work them very hard to deliver a non stop program for these Scouts. I’m sure they don’t hear it often enough so we will praise them tonight and make sure they know that they made 2021 a success.

I have 224 auctions running on eBay right now. I honestly didn’t know if I could sustain the auction strategy during camp but some long weekend nights allowed me to schedule things through July.

Starting Sunday I’ll be on true vacation in the mountains of North Carolina camping out with the hippies at a VW bus event called the High Country Bus Festival. I’m still looking for that person that wants to trade a VW camper van for patches. LOL My plan is to float in the river, eat and drink and very little else for a week. Sounds glorious!
