Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter August 13, 2021
Tomorrow I am meeting a couple of guys to purchase collections in MS and LA. But today I’m visiting Graceland with my mom (a real Elvis fan as a teenager). We got to walk Beale St. in Memphis last night and get a little feel for the city.
Ironically the collections I’m picking up are not even home grown to these areas. I don’t usually travel to go get collections but these are a couple that have been in the works for months and the timing worked out.
Over on eBay I’ve got 187 live auctions including a bunch ending Sunday night. I’m also selling off some nice old pieces from Wahissa Lodge 118 and Camp Raven Knob that I got from an old camp staff member.
I will try and take some pictures tomorrow and post them on Facebook. I’m a little worried I won’t have room in the mini van to get all this stuff back East so I’ve connected with Wally Majors who is going to let me donate some books and mugs to the local council/lodge if I need to make space.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
