Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter August 1, 2017

There are still plenty of vintage items up for bids on eBay despite the 600 pound gorilla in the category. Who knows this might be a good time to scoop up some old stuff since everyone is a little distracted by Jambo stuff.

Todd Rogers went ahead and created a new Facebook Group just for the 2018 NOAC. These topical groups have become part of the hobby and are really helpful if you are looking for information and images. There has been some drama with the one created by others for the 2017 Jamboree so I’m thinking Todd will keep things from getting off the rails.

I had someone give me a hard time for listing my Laurel Highlands set for $40 BIN. This was a very pretty set but was among the easiest to trade for at the Jamboree. It’s one that was made with the sublimation process. I’m more of a thick embroidery kinda collector myself.

As I go to print I’ve 500+ auctions live on 2017 Jamboree stuff and I hope to have that number up to 1000 unique listings by the end of the week. Anybody who has done eBay will tell you it’s not super easy to get unique items like Boy Scout patches listed. Add in the fact that I am managing inventory with dupes and it’s a bit of a challenge.
