This is a feel good video about how the Scouting program helped shape the life of a man who lived to be 96 years old. Joining Scouts in 1938 he was the perfect age to join the newly formed Air Scout program during the WWII era. As you will hear in the video this love of aviation really shaped the rest of his adult life. This is exactly what the merit badge program and Scouting opportunities to expose young people to vocations is all about.
I have been a collector of all things Senior Scouting including Explorers and Air Scouts for more than a decade. So I was thrilled when his daughter reached out to me after his passing. I hope that this video helps share his story with the rest of you and honor his memory.
I am always looking for the next collection to feature in an unboxing video. If you have one that needs to find a new home I would love for you to reach out with an email, text or phone call to share the story.
