Thread Heads Episode #2: Tips For Saving $ With The USPS

thread headsWelcome back for another installment of Thread Heads – the video talk show for the Boy Scout memorabilia hobby. In this episode the hosts kick it off by jumping right into the main focus of the show – saving money with shipping. As most people in the hobby are either trading or buying/selling then patch collectors are no strangers to the post office. However, there are always “ninja tricks” you can learn to save money. Brad shares a tip dealing with flat rate envelopes from the USPS that can hold a ton of stuff for one low price. Jason follows up with tips on how to use eBay labels and a careful discussion of how to make sure you are using the USPS definition of a 1st Class Package when you ship.

The second half of the show is focused on the upcoming 2015 NOAC in Michigan State University. For the patch trading community of course that also includes the 2015 NOAC Trade-O-Ree this time being run by Chris Jensen of www.Streamwood.net. However, the current events topic has been the tremendous registration interest in the NOAC and the recently announced youth/adult ratio limits that are forcing lodges to make hard decisions about who is going to go to the NOAC. Brad has some interesting thoughts on how this all might shake out.

The show wraps up with the mail basket segment as both guys share some projects they are working on that involve needle and thread.
