Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter November 21, 2023

I am in a book club online reading a good entrepreneurship book titled The Pumpkin Plan. So in last night’s call we had to zero in on our “Area of Innovation”. The choices are quality, price or convenience. The author tends to think only one of these can really be your secret sauce. So as applied to my eBay business and the Hot Finds I wanted to break the rules and pick Trust. That’s not on the list by the way.

Through doing this newsletter since 2010 and coming up on my 25th anniversary of joining eBay (in less than a week on Nov 27) I have demonstrated that I am a trusted collector. As I look into my business and think about how I deal with people being a straight shooter on the Internet is key. That might not be a good enough AOI as he calls it but I’ll keep reading the book and digging deeper.

To close out the holiday week I’m going to be taking pictures today and getting some more auctions listed. I’ve mentioned a few times that I’m on the hunt for some new part time help in the warehouse. I’ve got to type up a job description so I can be a little more professional about trying to attract the right talent.

On eBay I have 125 auctions listed on RWS, event patches, Philmont and more. I’ve got some nice felts from the 1940s and early 50s that launched Sunday for a 7-day run.
