Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter November 23, 2021

Yesterday I finished organizing my CSP collection. In doing so I discovered about 30 relatively easy issues that were on my needs list. So being the savvy eBay shopper that I am I put all those needs in my shopping cart and checked out yesterday. For a little less than $250 I got to cross off 75% of my needs!

I actually got a call from one of the sellers later in the day asking me why I was buying a newer CSP from him. (he also wanted to chat) The key thing being the more vintage ones I had already. It’s the councils that have popped up in the last decade that I don’t find in the types of collections I’m getting in. So what’s left on my needs list? Oh the hard ones of course. I need ones like Bronx Valley, Central Indiana, Chief Shabbona, Mattatuck, Riverside County, Lancaster County, Keystone York-Adams and Illiana. If you have any of those let me know!

Turns out there are also a handful of really recent issues that I don’t have and could not find a non SAP issue online yesterday. So I’ll put out the call here I’m looking for a standard issue (CSI calls this a RAV) for Greater Wyoming, Patriot’s Path, Longhouse, Letherstocking and Texas Southwest. Those should not be hard to find but so far they have eluded me.

I mentioned in the last newsletter that I was going all chips in this week when it comes to my auction strategy. Right now on eBay I have 417 live auctions with a bunch ending on next Sunday and Monday. This includes many pieces that I’ve been saving up for this week to catch the market as people are willing to spend some money.

Today I only have a limited amount of time in the warehouse so I’m filming an “Inside the warehouse” video for my Patreon subscribers. I’m in the middle of a massive sorting project and it’s quite a sight to see! It’s the kind of thing that someone in the Scouting Hot Finds Insiders group might be interested in.
