Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter November 7, 2017

I took my den over the Boy Scout meeting last night to check out their Cast Iron Chef competition. It’s essentially a patrol cooking contest that includes themed menus and secret ingredients. It was held under the shelter at the Scout hut. I saw Scottish shepard’s pie being made alongside Greek kabobs and Mexican cornbread. Sadly we had to leave before the judging was finished so we didn’t get to sample the fixings.

This week another one of my patch goals is to list more of the OA that came from the Midwest collection that I hauled in. There are tons of regular issue flaps and NOAC 2-piece sets that are reliable eBay material.

I was thinking the other day things have been relatively quiet in regards to the 2018 NOAC. I spend a good bit of time on Facebook and there has not been much buzz about it with most people looking ahead to the 2019 WJ. I know the numbers are tighter with going to Indiana so many lodges are highly restricted on how many can be in the contingent. My lodge has 4 adult slots and those were pretty much hand picked months ago.

Tonight the first wave of items from Midwest Collection are ending on eBay. I’ve got about 150 listings up for bids and some of them are pretty tough to get lodge flaps and issues.
