Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter December 1, 2023
It was very ironic for me to meet a guy last night at the Chick-fil-A along Interstate 95 just above the North Carolina border to purchase a small collection. We had been talking for months but I rarely get to that side of the state. But driving up the TOR in VA this weekend I was on that side and met him at the Lumberton NC location where I lived for 18 years before moving to Charlotte.
If all goes to plan I will source four collections on this trip which means that anything I can make at the TOR is just gravy. I am heading north this morning to get a collection that I’ve been working for more than a year. I really don’t love being away from the warehouse especially during a time when I’m trying to hire new employees. But I do feel super productive to make these in person buys and get some new inventory.
I have 84 live auctions on eBay with some good ones scheduled to end Friday night. I always try and schedule things out days if not weeks in advance to keep the calendar full.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
