So simply put what I am looking for is a college kid who is tech savy enough to fire up a program like Audacity and listen with a good ear to the interview. Delete all the uhms, uhhs, coughs and other noises that turn off listeners. Then mix in a little bumper music and create a finished product. I have an interview from February (yes I know!) that needs to be edited so I can get back on the horse. Got any ideas for an audio editor on the cheap?
I have begun a half joking goal to implement the Scott Lane strategy on eBay. This is simply put to take what many of us would describe as dollar patches and list them on eBay for sale. I think Scott targets them at close to $7 each but I’m sorta cheap so I’ll pick $4.95. The basic premise is if you have a Cub Day camp from a particular year and a particular council then you can be the only known listing on eBay for that item. Then if someone is searching for it ping your dollar patch just became a $5 because that one person in the universe needed it. To be continued!!!!
Thanks to the new fee structure on eBay there is no financial cost to listing an activity patch indefinitely on eBay. The cost is time and effort to get it up. But over the last year I’ve developed some ways to list in bulk so this will be a strategy I employ in 2021 on my quest to get 50k items in my eBay store. At 50k items I would have about 10% of all inventory in the Boy Scout category so that’s a pretty big net to cast in search of sales. The law of averages kicks in and every day I can net a dozen or more sales to keep the engine running.
Over on eBay I’ve got 261 live auctions with a batch ending and starting every night of the week. Tonight I have SAPs and event patches closing and then Sunday a nice run of OA. On ScoutPatchHQ I have a dozen killer OA pieces ending including an OA first flap that I can’t find any history of sales from the last 5 years.
Well COVID cancelled the camping trip that my Webelos Patrol had planned for this weekend. We were supposed to go out with one of the troops in Charlotte that we are checking out but our Governor announced a curfew and I guess the troop got cold feet. So instead we are off to spend the weekend with my mom and see my sister’s family as well. So you might say we are camping at grandma’s this weekend!
