With this being the last Sunday before Christmas its a natural day to end auctions in the category. With so many people visiting family or otherwise tied up next week I expect today to be a banner day for listings to wrap up.
Last night we had Christmas dinner with my side of the family. We hosted in Charlotte after getting my mom home from a few days visiting family in WV. My mom surprised me with a very special gift. She gave me my dad’s Vigil Bible. In our lodge it’s a tradition to get an engraved Bible in your Vigil site. This one has my dad’s name and Indian Vigil name on the cover.
If I’m very lucky today I can escape to my warehouse and get some shipping done before more relatives show up tomorrow. My wife will have me on a short leash but with 332 auctions ending tonight I don’t want to get swamped.
I sent out a stand alone email blast to about 400 collectors in the southeast on Dec 17th to promote the pair of shows coming up in South Carolina next month. The Santee Lodge TOR and South Carolina Winter Trade-O-Ree are featured in this mailchimp email blast.
I am closing out December with 332 auctions ending tonight. Next week I will start a few auctions but all of those will end in 2019. At some point I’ll stop to reflect on last year and look at my selling strategies but running auctions will continue to be part of the plan for sure.
I got my contract in the mail this week for Year 2 of working as the Camp Director at Camp Barstow. I don’t think I ever completely stopped working on camp promotion since the summer ended four months ago. We have been busy hiring staff and reaching out to troops recently. You can follow many of these efforts on the camp website.
