Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter December 26, 2023

I know that New Years resolutions don’t work but that doesn’t mean that you can’t set goals for 2024 and lay the foundation to achieve them. For my patch business I’ve already instituted some changes that will streamline next year. This week I’m simplifying my store structure after evaluating and tracking sales and other metrics.

For those of you not tackling eBay maybe this is a time to set some collection goals for 2024? Is there an area you want to essentially complete? Are there some side collections sitting in gallon size zip locks that you want to organize and work on? I have staked a good flag in the ground on that front. I’ve offered to display the majority of my collection at the Cornerstone Conclave in April. So I have a little over 4 months to get things framed up and ready.

While I don’t subscribe to New Year’s Resolutions I do believe in making small changes that compound. That’s the theory of a book that I got for Christmas and have started reading called The Slight Edge. I am in a book club that will tackle that topic in early January and I’m looking forward to feeding off some new ideas. I am actually writing down goals and already have the means to track progress so I’m ready to ring in the New Year.

On eBay I didn’t slow down for the holidays with 187 live auctions running. These include camp patches, Philmont and interesting event patches. I am also adding a number of fixed priced items to my store every day to feed the beast.
