I got an email this morning from my lodge adviser stating that he was stepping down for health reasons. I think being a lodge adviser would put most people in the hospital. It takes a special kind of talent to shepard all those adult egos and teenage hormones. However, somehow Rondal Johnson of Santee 116 found a way to plug in everybody according to their talents and interests and the lodge has taken off under his leadership. That’s kinda the secret sauce to Scouting – getting good volunteers.
After being married for almost twenty years my wife engaged me in the fruitless conversation last night about why I needed to go to a District Banquet on Thursday and a Trade-O-Ree on Friday. Really? Does that conversation sound familiar to any of you?
Yesterday I worked out a nice deal with another collector on a payment plan. For once it’s somebody sending me money instead of the other way around. I am always trying to downsize some of my dupes and he is happy to get one piece of his collection 95% complete. I need to do that more often.
I’ve got a bunch of first time auctions live on eBay right now. Today my plan is to stay off social media and hunker down for some major eBay listing progress. I need to finish up a few boxes of neckerchiefs and get some other 1/2 way down boxes closed out. My goal is 200 new items listed but that’s going to take some work.
