Does you camp do this? Our camp staff at Barstow tries to put on a “throwback Thursday” where we wear vintage uniforms to dinner. I got a call from a staff member yesterday trying to piece together some of the patches for his uniform to match. I don’t know if that’s planting a seed or not but getting Scouts interested in old memorabilia has been my mission for a long time.
We are headed out the door to go visit an island called St. Philips that Ted Turner used to own. For that reason I’ll be publishing my interview with Bob Sherman on the podcast a little later today. When you are on vacation you don’t really have a schedule!
Another way I’m going to recycle stuff this summer and help the Scouts get the “patch bug” is by taking dozens of 3-ring binders and boxes of boxes of lightly used plastic pages. We have a couple of different evening activities that I think this will fit in nicely.
I have 213 live auctions on eBay this week. This group includes over a dozen flags including ones from the WSJ, NJ and two huge council pieces.
If you are subscribed to my podcast you will see the new episode load later today. Otherwise you can keep an eye on my website or Facebook for a link. I hope June is going to be a great month and I’m so happy the calendar has rolled over.
