As I’ve mentioned in the newsletter Russell Smart brought a great display to the Charlotte TOR – truly a museum quality display. I literally got to see the first adult Eagle medal ever presented (I think he was number 4) with what we sometimes call a drop ribbon. But if you missed it I recorded a video interview with him that will be shared tomorrow night in the live show.
Tomorrow’s live show will also include an unboxing and a new giveaway. I’ve got people anxiously waiting to see who won the 1937 Jamboree patch. It’s been fun putting this together and the idea is to just have a platform where I can geek out about Scouting memorabilia and share it with the community.
Today I’m publishing the Hot Finds from a Panera Bread as I’m on my way to the Sleepy Poet to “work my booth”. I borrowed some items for the TOR including the dollar box and almost a dozen long boxes I have there. When I put things back together today I will have 2 giant dollar boxes out for sale. This is absolutely the most popular item in the booth. I am going to try and film a quick video of the booth as well to include in the live show.
On eBay I have 128 live auctions running. As I kinda reset the schedule this will include belt buckles, OA and the final run of community strips.
October is also a big month of camp promotion for Camp Barstow. We had two camp expos and now a lot of the opportunity is social media and individual troop contacts. Later today I’ll finish polishing up the website and build out a series of camp promotion emails to go out to our contacts.
