Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter June 25, 2024

Thanks to my travel agent (aka my wife) my tickets are now booked for a Sunday morning flight (yes this Sunday) to the Midwest to pick up two collections. The only way to make this work was to rent a Penske truck and drive it to scoop these up. One of the collections is kinda a leap of faith and the other I’ve been talking to the family since March.

It’s been YEARS since I’ve done this kinda trip and it’s not for the old and faint of heart as they say. It might cost me $3k in expenses and nearly 24 hours behind the wheel of this truck to get it all back to Charlotte, NC. I am going solo as well so there is no backup. But most importantly I’ve already made the deal with the people so all that I need to do is roll up the door and roll down the ramp and load it all up.

I will try and film some kinda video of the adventures (hopefully no misadventures) to share. I think temporarily I’ll need to rent a storage unit in order to give me some room to sort. My current warehouse is fine but I am getting it thinned out where we can actually move around well and I don’t want to ruin that progress.

On eBay I have 114 live auctions which is about 100 shy of where I typically am every week. The way I have to run the business is the listing schedule has to be the first priority and all the fun stuff like experimenting with Whatnot has to happen when I’ve done my homework first.
